Two days in Delhi

I spent two nights in Delhi on my way up to Rishikesh. I saw only the tiniest fraction of the city and what I saw I liked. Delhi is big and loud and dirty, alive with beauty and ugliness. To me there was something indescribably gorgeous about it all: the grime, the telephone wires, the old barbershops, the crumbling facades, the faded paint, the glistening fruit, the bicycle shadows...

making naan. the man was pressing out the balls of dough with his hands  and slapping them to the side of the tandoor oven where they stick until they are puffed and browned. and all this was right on the side of the street.

  2. yes popcorn! you can buy it from guys who pop it up in woks on wheels in the street. and they hand it to you in a little bag made of newspaper.
