ReplyDeleteThanks for the cool pictures! I've always been curious about the Ambassador cars made in India -- like the one in the picture with the sleeping dog. Never actually seen one. Love to know more about them.
ReplyDeleteThey're so amazing! I hope I get to ride in one at some point

DeleteOh mY Dear what beautiful photos. I amgoing to see your grand mother tomorrow and I know she will love to see your message and photos Love to you my dear girl, Liz
ReplyDeleteYour grand ma Penny says to tell you she sends her love! She wants to know if you ate the strange fruit? It looks just like seeds and dryness. She is still overwhelmed by your adventure and loves getting to see the things you are sharing with us. we can hardly wait to see what ideas you bring back about cooking. I had a teacher at my school for years that would cook and share things with us. We always celebrated diwali (sp?) new years and would dress up in her clothes to celebrate. Mark also sends his love and is excited to see your blog every time. I think I will show my students when we finish the current project we are working on. Love to you dear.
ReplyDeleteI haven't tried it yet but I found out it's called jackfruit and that they're just coming in to season now. I'm curious!
DeleteThe pod photos is great as is the watermelon!! Barrels of juice! And the peel looks so cool behind it.
ReplyDeleteLooks like they're enjoying a nice cool faloodah at the Hotel. What made you think of me? LOL!
The Dasaprakesh is this incredible old hotel that you can go to for lunch or dinner. You can tell it was fancy once but now it's sort of antiquated. The food is very delicious and inexpensive and the waiters are old guys in funny brown hats. I'd love to spend a night there if I get the chance. It just strikes me as your kind of place. I know you'd love it!
ReplyDeleteI have to admit it looks fun! I wish I was over there right now.
DeleteIt is an honour to be on your blog, Julia :-D
ReplyDeleteIs the Hotel Dasaprakesh in Mysore, or somewhere else you went?
Thanks Susan!
DeleteThat's the Dasaprakesh in Mysore, close to the Devaraja market
Coincidentally, we went there today with Tasia! :)
DeleteI love more people are writing to you - This is so much fun!! I'm hoping you'll have time to send more images soon. Please tell us about the jackfruit when you try it. It looks to strange, like dryness and seeds. We love hearing about your experiences. How is Yoga? We could see in your journal a newspaper clipping. Was it about your school?
ReplyDeleteYoga is great! I'm loving the space and the practice. That picture was actually of yoga classes for tribal youth. I liked it because it showed these little girls doing yoga in all their pretty clothes. Women can't show their shoulders and knees in public here but I'm so grateful that I'm allowed to practice in a tank top!
DeleteBeautiful photos. It sounds like your trip so far is all that (more than?) you were hoping for, and I'm so glad. Love you, Anna
